Over time, matter gravitated towards Unicron's fallen form, eventually forming a planet which found an orbit around a distant star. It is suggested, in fact, that the two brothers embody the basic concepts of reality - good and evil, order and chaos - and that their continued existence is necessary for the stability of the multiverse. Far more than a mere product of science, as in the cartoon, Unicron was a fallen god from before the universe existed, who sought the ultimate peace that would be granted by the destruction of all life. This is the reason for the "errors" in the Cybertron animated series, as it is following a constantly reshaping universe. But the power of Unicron proved too much for Megatron to control, as Unicron began to take over Megatron's body. In order to re-energise himself, Unicron implanted some of his own cells within Cybertron, where they grew and "hatched", giving birth to the diminutive race of robots called theMini-Cons.
