In 2000, she moved to La Crosse where she was the assistant development director for FSPA until 2007. Her passion for animals was evident to everyone, with her constantly feeding the birds, rabbits and squirrels around the motherhouse. At entrance into the novitiate, she received the name Sister Ladonna. During her third year in college, she was offered a position at the Spokesman-Review newspaper as a reporter. Sister Donna Weber, FSPA, 91, died on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Rose Convent, La Crosse, Wisconsin. In Memoriam - Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio Sister Rita attended her freshman year at Sacred Heart School, then transferred to Early Consolidated School for the rest of her high school years. After the high school in Lansing closed, she remained there as a religious education teacher for two more years. She joined FSPA in 1950 and was given the name, Sister Joene, but later went back to her baptismal name. Joanne received her early education at St. Joseph Grade School in Spokane and graduated from eighth grade at St. Aloysius Grade School. From 1995 to 1998, Sister Betty was asked to serve as treasurer for the FSPA Central Region in Hiawatha, Iowa. In August 2007, the Sisters of St. Francis in Millvale, Pennsylvania merged with the Syracuse-based congregation. She kept close contact with family, former students and friends via letters and phone calls, even visiting her adopted Greene family in Texas in her 100s. Her family ties grew deep and strong and continued through the years with Hageman family reunions almost every other year. In 2010, Sister Margaret Ann retired to Villa St. Joseph, La Crosse where she continued to volunteer until her health weakened. Sister Jean maintained connection with her foreign exchange brother and sister throughout her life, even visiting them abroad. As a toddler, Marie would follow her mother around the kitchen and in the garden, picking berries, plums, grapes and whatever else was in season. From 1958 to 1964 she served theFSPA community in the business office at St. Rose Convent. During the annual three-day retreat of her senior year, she admitted to herself she was called to religious life. She grew up in Guttenberg with her three brothers and two sisters, helping her father at the Kuempel & Lake Hardware Store. In 1999, she was officially incorporated as a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration. She was in the 70th year of religious profession as a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA). She and eight of her former students from Our Lady of the Lake in Ashland participated in daily prayer with each other even during her retirement at Villa St. Joseph. RUTH JASINSKI OBITUARY Sister Ruth Jasinski, 94, of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Third Order Regular of St Francis, died on Monday morning, August 23, 2021, at Reading Hospital-Tower. Her fathers work, assistant sales manager for Auto-lite, led the family to move to La Crosse shortly after her birth. After completing high school, Sister Lois entered the novitiate on August 12, 1942, and was given the name Sister Caroleen.
